FAQ

Which filler do I need?

With so many dermal filler products on the market, it can be difficult to know which option is best for you. Each product is uniquely formulated to have a certain texture, density, and injection depth, which means that certain fillers work better for certain areas of concern. At Blue in Green Center, we’ll perform a cosmetic consultation guided by our Nurse Practitioner – we will determine what product is best for you.

How can Dermal Fillers Enhance My Appearance?

While dermal fillers are casually known as “wrinkle fillers,” they can do much more than just smooth out wrinkles, although they are excellent at this too! Here are a few of the common issues dermal fillers can help address:
• Smooth out lines around nose and mouth (a.k.a. marionette lines, smile lines, and parentheses)
• Enhance & restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples
• Diminish vertical lip lines
• Plump & enhance the lips
• Smooth out a chin crease
• Improve symmetry among facial features

What are Injectable Fillers?

What to expect after a Micro-Needling treatment?

Micro-needling isn’t invasive like plastic surgery, so. The recovery time is minimal. You may notice some skin irritation and redness within the first few days following the procedure. This is a natural response to the small ‘injuries’ made by the needles in your skin.
Your skin will also be more sensitive to the sun, so sunscreen is a must.
After micro-needling, your skin works fairly quickly to rejuvenate new tissue. In theory, you should see results within a couple of weeks. To maintain the results of your treatment, you’ll need multiple sessions and perhaps other complementing treatments. Our medical aesthetician will advise you on the best plan of action based on your individual goals.

Am I a Good Candidate for Micro-needling?

Micro-needling works best for:
• Acne scars
• Age spots
• Large ports
• Reduced skin elasticity

• are pregnant

• have open wounds
• have had radiation therapy recently
• have a history of skin scars

What are potential risks of micro-needling?

Like all cosmetic procedures, micro-needling isn’t without risk. The most common side effect is minor skin irritation immediately following the procedure. You may also see redness for a few days. Call your doctor if you notice more severe side effects, such as:
• bleeding
• bruising
• infection
• peeling

Is Microdermabrasion good for your face?

Microdermabrasion can help improve the skin appearance by reducing fine lines, early sun damage, and mild, shallow acne marks. It is not useful for deep acne scars or deep wrinkles. Skin may become noticeably smoother even after one treatment and better absorb moisturizers.

Chemical peels can improve the skin’s appearance. In this treatment a chemical solution is applied to the skin, which makes it ‘blister’ and eventually peel off. The new skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.

Chemical peels work best for people who are experiencing hyper-pigmentation, textured skin, discoloration, and acne scarring.

The number of treatments you may require will depend upon the area you wish to have treated, the hair density and your hair’s growth cycle. This cycle is influenced by many factors: age, ethnicity, weight, hormones, diet, medication and metabolism. Some hair is more resilient and therefore more resistant to treatment.
At Blue in Green Center, we provide treatments in packages of six. Once the treatment regimen is complete, it may be necessary to come in for maintenance treatments, if there is regrowth.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Our Elite Plus laser hair removal machine, has an incorporated chilling system that makes laser hair removal a painless experience. Patients describe the treatment pulses as a heating sensation on the skin. You may experience some redness and swelling following the treatment that normally resolves in a short amount of time.
