Laser Hair Removal
For many people, unwanted hair causes major self-image issues. And getting rid of it can be a painful, time-consuming experience. But now there are far better choices than unpleasant hair-removal creams and depilatories, sharp razors, hot wax or painful electrolysis needles. Blue in Green Center’s laser hair removal Elite Plus technology is a safe, comfortable and proven solution, removing hair from virtually any part of your body.
You should not have laser hair removal if:
• You’re pregnant or breast feeding (wait 6 months after you stop breastfeeding)
• You’re on antibiotics (depending on medication you’ll have to wait 2 weeks to 6 months for treatment)
• You’ve been tanning or plan to tan/ have used tanning beds, or tanning sprays (depending on ease of tanning and skin color you’ll need to wait 2 to 4 weeks to get treatment)
You have grey our blond hair – laser treatments target the hair melanin; grey hair doesn’t have melanin to target and the laser is ineffective at removing grey or blond hair.
The number of treatments you may require will depend upon the area you wish to have treated, the hair density and your hair’s growth cycle. This cycle is influenced by many factors: age, ethnicity, weight, hormones, diet, medication and metabolism. Some hair is more resilient and therefore more resistant to treatment.
At Blue in Green Center, we provide treatments in packages of six. Once the treatment regimen is complete, it may be necessary to come in for maintenance treatments, if there is regrowth.
Our Elite Plus laser hair removal machine, has an incorporated chilling system that makes laser hair removal a painless experience. Patients describe the treatment pulses as a heating sensation on the skin. You may experience some redness and swelling following the treatment that normally resolves in a short amount of time.
Laser hair removal works by slowing the growing capacity of hair follicles that are in the active growth cycle at time of treatment. Since hairs will enter their growth cycle at different times, several treatments are necessary to disable all of the follicles in a given area.
